Verizon Wireless and Research In Motion (RIM) have introduced the first 1x EV-DO enabled BlackBerry, the 7130e, capable of delivering email and data capabilities commonly available with the BlackBerry wireless platform, but also serving as a modem for customers who want to use the device to connect their laptop with Verizon Wireless’ BroadbandAccess service.

The new BlackBerry 7130e features support for push email, Web browsing, SMS, personal organizer and other corporate data applications.

The BlackBerry 7130e is available today through business channels and will launch for consumers on December 1st. Expect to pay $299.99 with a two-year service contract.

NTT DoCoMo Japan have developed a new 3G FOMA handsets, SA700iS. The model is made by Sanyo.

SA700iS is the first FOMA handset with GPS capability. Navigation functions can be started at a single touch of the dedicated button, and there is a link to i-area to make searching for locations even easier. Users can also print images directly from the handset by simply connecting the phone to a printer with the FOMA USB cable.

The SA700iS also comes with two built-in digital cameras. The internal one with 100,000 pixels and the external one with 1.3 megapixels. The main display is a QVGA TFT (2.2″, 240×320 pixels), while the secondary display is an OLED display (0.9″, 96×64 pixels). The handset accepts miniSD cards for memory expansion.

Affordable, Stylish Kyocera EV-DO Handset to Be Available for New Mobile Entertainment Service Provider’s Launch in Late 2005.

Amp’d Mobile and Kyocera Wireless Corp. today announced the Jet, an affordable high-speed EV-DO handset for rapid downloading of Amp’d’s unique 3G content launching later this year. Jet marks the first EV-DO mobile phone for Kyocera Wireless, a leading global manufacturer of CDMA wireless phones and devices, and will be the lowest-priced handset at Amp’d Mobile, the first fully integrated 3G mobile entertainment company for youth/young adults.

The handset will feature the sliding form factor Kyocera helped popularize and Amp’d Mobile’s proprietary user interface, built on BREW® 3.1, to easily navigate a fresh perspective on wireless music, videos, entertainment, 3D mobile gaming, and more. Pantech today announced that it has launched the PH-S8000T, the first smartphone to be introduced to Korea. This handset works on EV-DO networks.

The new phone is equipped with Intel Bulverde 400MHz processor and the Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition and features Internet Explorer Mobile Version and Microsoft ActiveSync.

The PH-S8000T also includes a 1.3M camera, which allows users to take and store high quality photographs as well as moving images. Other features include Video on Demand (VOD), MP3, photo caller ID, and Yamaha 64 poly-tone sound.

The PH-S8000T will be available in July.
