Vodafone K.K. Japan announced a new 3G handset which will be available in early October, the new Toshiba 903T. It is very similar to it’s predecessor 902T, with the addition of a GPS funtion which works even while you’re roaming in a foreign country.

The Vodafone 903T is the first Vodafone K.K. handset to support the “Vodafone live! NAVI” GPS navigation service. The handset comes pre-installed with a’ navigation application. In addition to convenient functions like current location, surrounding area information, and best route navigation, the software also features car navigation that references VICS real time traffic congestion information. The VICS (Vehicle Information and Communication System) system receives traffic information from FM multiplex broadcasting and road beacons, and displays this information in text or graphical form.
